What is Porcelain?
Porcelain is a high resistance and low absorption product.
Burned at a high temperature, its body is white, shiny and translucent, completely free of porosity, which prevents the accumulation of impurities.
The basic raw materials are Quartz, Kaolin, Feldspar and Clay.
The other tabletop products found on the market have greater porosity due to the firing process and the composition of the raw material.
Why the porcelain is more white than other ceramic products?
Due to the use of more pure and quality materials, and our firing process in a modified atmosphere in which the porcelain in cured. Contrastly, most other ceramic companies burn their ceramic in an oxidizing atmosphere, which results in a less white appearance.
Why the porcelain is more resistant than other ceramic products?
Due to the high percentage of quartz present in its composition, which equates to 30% (thirty percent) of porcelain. Their porosity is close to 0 (zero), and be burned in a higher position than the other temperature ceramics.
Can your porcelain be used in the microwave?
The pieces that contain metal components (gold, silver, platinum) in their decoration can’t be used in the microwave or other electrical appliances.Basic white pieces and food service items are microwave safe. Plain white porcelain is safe for use in the microwave.
Can your porcelain be used in the dishwasher?
The pieces that contain metal components (gold, silver, platinum) in their decoration should only be washed by hand, and are not for use in the dishwasher or other electrical appliances. We do not recommend using a dishwasher for cleaning porcelain with decorations applied on glaze, because they may become worn or damaged after repeated exposure. Some serving platters may be too large to fit into a dishwasher.
Can your porcelain be used in the common oven?
Only refractory porcelains are resistant to this type of use: The Calorama shape and the Hudson platters “complementos” are suitable for use in an oven. Caution for heat/ hot surfaces when cooking with these products.
The porcelain can be introduced to direct flame?
No. No piece of porcelain can be exposed directly to flames.
Which is the best way to clean Porcelain?
Simple care with dish soap and a soft sponge is best. Some of our products are dishwasher safe. Our porcelain is bright and translucent. It does not accumulate dirt and impurities, and can be washed clean easily.
Can I use steel wool to clean the pieces?
Yes, on white pieces, refractory porcelain, and pieces with decorations applied under the glaze. In the pieces that have decorations, or colored fillets, use of steel wool should be done carefully and could scratch the decoration. Avoid use in metallic fillets or decorations (gold, silver and platinum).
How do you remove scratches from use of cutlery?
Try cleaning with soap or anti rust product to remove the appearance of minor scratches. Be careful only to expose for a very short time and thoroughly wash clean before use.
What is the gold utilized in the decors with golden fillet?
The gold utilized in the fillets of our decors is 18K, because it’s more appropriated to applying in porcelain.
